At this time of year, I frequently find myself turning my head and sniffing at the air as I ride along the city streets. The lindens (aka tilleuls or lime flowers) are blooming now, the sweet scent is just around every corner and I slow my pace to enjoy the heady aroma wherever I find it. The honey locusts were equally fragrant a month back, but the lindens are the only ones I can save as tea for those cold, dark months when the only smell in the air is cows.
